We are excited to offer a rewarding position as Pharmacist I at our innovative Grande Prairie Regional Hospital. You will work with patients, doctors and other healthcare professionals to provide excellent care. In addition to using your prescribing authorization to manage medications for various conditions, you help patients make healthy choices and provide education and direct care. Your excellent communication skills and caring nature ensure smooth transitions for patients between different care settings. In this role, you can focus on clinical practice while our technicians and assistants handle drug distribution. We offer supplemental hourly allowance of $4.94, up to $10,000 annually. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, Alberta Health Services (AHS) currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).

Additional prescribing authorization (or obtained within 1 year from date of hire).

Prior interdisciplinary team experience is an asset. Ability to work effectively both in a team environment as well as independently. Ability to use evidence-based medicine in direct patient care.
