We are seeking a passionate and motivated Policy Support Intern to join our team on a casual basis. This opportunity is open to both undergraduate and master's students with a strong interest in policy development and improving the wellbeing of Albertans. The intern will gain valuable hands-on experience in policy updates, meeting support, and strategy creation, while being encouraged to further their academic journey towards a career in public policy.

This role will involve working closely with various teams within our organization. The intern will report directly to the Director, Executive Operations and will also support the Enterprise Management Office. This position provides exposure to both senior leadership and strategic policy development and aims to inspire students to pursue further studies in public policy and related fields. Key Responsibilities include: Policy Updates: Assist with researching, drafting, and updating policy documents to ensure they reflect current best practices and regulatory requirements. Meeting Support: Coordinate, schedule, and provide logistical support for policy meetings, including preparing agendas, taking meeting notes, and following up on action items. Strategy Creation: Contribute to the development of strategic initiatives, including gathering data, analyzing trends, and assisting in the formulation of policy recommendations. Research and Analysis: Conduct research on relevant policy issues, assist in compiling data, and support analysis efforts. Other Administrative Duties: Assist with any additional policy-related administrative tasks as needed.

Undergraduate or Master’s student in Public Policy, Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field. A strong interest in improving the wellbeing of Albertans and contributing to positive policy change. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise reports. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with research tools.

As Required

Previous experience in policy research, public administration, or related fields (internships, coursework, or volunteer work). Familiarity with policy analysis tools and software. Experience with project management or meeting facilitation.
