Ready to help make high school health career camps an experience of a lifetime? The Student Engagement team is seeking a Post-Secondary Student to support the preparation and operation of our health camps, as well as assist with other summer student programs. Our goals are simple: provide you with an enriching experience, and you provide us with much-needed support to help things run smoothly. Join a provincial team of individuals whose curiosity and collaboration continually push forward, evolve, and modernize our approach to motivate talent to choose healthcare as their career path. You will work closely with the Senior Advisor, the Student Engagement team, and other internal and external partners to support a positive experience for young Albertans. Work from Red Deer or anywhere in the province of Alberta. For some locations, office space is limited and may require you to work from home in a suitable workspace.

As a Post-Secondary Student, you will support a variety of student initiatives, including being the point person at approximately four health camps across Alberta. You will relate well with high school students while building trust with volunteers and site leaders who help make the camp activities happen. Other student programs involve assisting high school students with onboarding as they navigate their first job. You will assist with preparation and attend career-related events across Alberta, including providing input on marketing strategies aimed at students. If time allows, you will also be assigned administrative projects, including research for student engagement and inclusive hiring practices. Work with other members of the Student Engagement team to create an online intake process for Non-clinical Student Placement Requests. Complete yearly reporting data for Student-Related work, including job shadow data, non-clinical placements, Canada Summer Job Grants, and other program-related activities. Create feedback reports and analyze Healthcare Career Exploration Days for program improvement. To be successful, be adaptable, organized, detail-oriented, and able to communicate clearly and calmly when things aren’t going as planned.

Attending a post-secondary institution in Administration, Business, Human Resources, Commerce, Communications, or any related field. Recent graduates are also encouraged to apply. Please note: This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs Grant which restricts eligibility to only applicants between the ages of 15 and 30 AND either Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or persons to whom refugee protection have been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act at the time of hire.

As this is a leadership role, you must work well independently, are outgoing and comfortable interacting with peers either in person or on the phone who may be unfamiliar to you. Strong problem-solving skills. Proactive and self-motivated approach to work.

As Required.
