Description
The Radiation Therapy Department at the Tom Baker Cancer Center offers an amazing location near the heart of Calgary. Close to the mountains and sunny skies year-round. As a Radiation Therapist I, you will deliver a prescribed course of radiation treatment to patients and assist in the efficient, safe and accurate planning of patient's care during simulation and/or planning procedures according to the direction of a Radiation Oncologist. You will assess each patient's reactions to treatment, document treatment plans, and maintain patient records. Additionally, you will educate patients about treatment procedures, side effects, and appropriate management strategies to mitigate the side effects of treatment, making referrals to other health professionals as needed.
Completion of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy in Canada or accredited non-Canadian program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
Must be able to perform all duties of the job, including lifting and moving.
Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). Basic Life Support (BLS).
