Are you looking for a once in a lifetime opportunity to demonstrate and grow your radiation therapy skills in a new state of the art facility, built for the future of Cancer Care? Cancer Care Alberta is currently looking for a Radiation Therapist I to join our team at the new Arthur Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre (AC) in Calgary. Reporting to the Manager of Radiation Therapy you will join a dedicated and collaborative, interdisciplinary team that includes Oncologists, Radiation Therapists, Medical Physicists, Dosimetrists, Allied Health, Nursing, Administrative professionals. Growing your career at the AC will encompass a bright modern facility design that bridges leading research and treatment options with an overarching goal of continuous advancement and the best in patient cancer care. You will work with innovative treatment technologies and diagnostic equipment that include but will not be limited to CT and MRI simulators, adaptive RT utilizing MR Linac technology, external beam radiation with Varian Linacs, MRI guided brachy therapy, a provincial TBI program and much more. Please note that although this role is based out of the Arthur Child Cancer Centre (AC), training and work may originate at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre prior to the AC opening. There will be 8 positions for this posting.

As a Radiation Therapist I, you will deliver a prescribed course of radiation treatment to patients and assist in the efficient, safe and accurate planning of patient's care during simulation and/or planning procedures according to the direction of a Radiation Oncologist. You will assess each patient's reactions to treatment, document treatment plans, and maintain patient records. Additionally, you will educate patients about treatment procedures, side effects, and appropriate management strategies to mitigate the side effects of treatment, making referrals to other health professionals as needed.

Completion of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy in Canada or accredited non-Canadian program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).

Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). Must be able to perform all physical duties of the position including lifting and moving for extended periods of time. Basic Life Support (BLS).
