Description
FMC Psychiatric Adult Service is a sub-acute service providing time limited, goal directed therapy to patients with a variety of mood and anxiety disorders. As the Social Worker III, you will be required to perform the restricted activity of psychosocial intervention utilizing a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment (psychotherapy). Therapists and Psychiatrists work collaboratively with the main focus of the role including comprehensive assessments, time limited individual therapy and group therapy. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As a Social Worker III, you will perform either advanced level assessment and treatment or act as a clinical lead. You will work with or within teams to provide health care services for patients with complex and multidimensional medical, psychosocial, environmental and instrumental needs. You will provide advanced clinical services, consultation to the interprofessional team and patients/families and supervision of students and team members as assigned. You may also act as a clinical lead providing leadership in the planning, development, and delivery of services in a specific area, as well as staff development, quality improvement and evaluation or research activities as identified by the needs of the service area(s).
Master's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Minimum of 3 years working in a direct therapy position within Adult Addiction and Mental Health. Experience facilitating a variety of groups including psychoeducational and skills based. Proficiency with both DBT and CBT with the ability to utilize in therapy with clients. Proficiency with individual therapy, manage a case list, work within tight timeframes, and adhere to policies around total sessions and triggered reviews. Require authorization to perform restricted activities.
Experience with time limited/goal-oriented therapy in an outpatient adult addiction and mental health setting. Demonstrated understanding of Addiction and Mental Health programs within the Calgary Zone. SFBT and Trauma therapy considered an asset.
