Sr Financial Analyst

This Senior Financial Analyst position in Business Advisory Services (BAS) supports the North Zone Acute Care Portfolio. The successful candidate should be a self-starter, demonstrate advanced technical skills in excel, and work well in teams. Job responsibilities include working with budgets, forecasting, recommendations for program and/or cost efficiencies and development or enhancements to processes and controls. You will be required to apply the broad accounting principles, understand legal requirements and interpret policy and procedure guidelines. Other duties include journal entries, ad hoc reporting, variance analysis, reconciliation, and various month end, quarter end, and annual financial reporting duties. The position location is flexible, and working hours are from 8:00am to 4:15pm.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will coordinate and/or prepare complex financial and statistical analysis and reports, along with providing interpretation of analyses and reports to support business and external requirements. Your work will be focused on budgets, forecasting, recommendations for program and/or cost efficiencies and development or enhancements to processes and controls. In addition, you will coordinate and monitor progress of financial projects, as well as coach and guide other department staff such as Financial Analysts.

Post secondary degree specializing in accounting or related field (e.g. economics, statistics).

Advanced MS Excel skills. Minimum of four years of accounting or financial experience. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills. Ability to perform strategically and systematically. Work with minimum supervision. Ability to meet defined deadlines. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of the team.

CPA or equivalent preferred. Financial experience in a Health Care environment. Strong working knowledge of Oracle & Hyperion applications. Experience providing financial advice to leadership positions.
