An exciting opportunity exists for a Qualified ER/OR/MDR Manager in the Cold Lake Healthcare Centre. Cold Lake is located on Alberta's seventh largest lake, 300 km Northeast of Edmonton, offering both indoor and outdoor recreational activities which are bound to keep you busy during and season! Reporting to the Site Manager, the ER/OR/MDR Manager is responsible and accountable for direction, team leadership and organization over the activities of the ER/OR/MDR Department, as well as support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. The position is responsible and accountable for making unit-level decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for contributing to the achievement of the goals of the patient care service. The position will require strong relationship building abilities that include facilitation, collaboration, and consultation skills, utilizing persuasion and influence.
Graduation from an accredited Nursing program with current registration from the applicable governing body. Over the past 7 years, you have been working as a nurse, with at least 5 of those years in an active frontline position or in a supervisory role within the emergency department or operating room.
Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, a focus on patient & family centered care and commitment to providing quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, change management, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Ability to manage human, financial, and physical resources within an operating environment. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within an organization and ideally managing within a unionized sector. Demonstrated success in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with multidisciplinary teams. Evidence of initiative, flexibility and creativity. Promotes an environment that fosters quality improvement and a culture of safety for staff and patients.
Ideally a minimum of 10 years of nursing experience, with 3 years’ experience in a formal leadership role. Participated in change management training courses, or leadership courses. Certifications for the following: perioperative program, Canadian triage and acuity scale, advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support, trauma nursing core course, emergency nursing pediatric course, neonatal resuscitation. Experience with Connect Care.
