CY Team - St. Stephen Education Center

1.0 FTE School Social Worker I - 1 Position - Temporary until June 25, 2025

Description :

This is entry level professional social work involving the provision of services/interventions to individuals, families and groups to improve social functioning. The work involves assessment and preparation of case analysis; identification of social needs and recommending appropriate action. Employees are responsible for preparing case analysis and reports, acting as a resource to educators and are establishing/maintaining effective working relationships with students, parents, teaching staff, groups, other government departments, community agencies and the general public. As the variety and difficulty of assignments increases, more latitude in independent judgment and decision making is permitted as the employee acquires knowledge and skill in the assigned areas of activities. Other related duties may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications : Graduation from university with a Bachelor’s in Social Work or a related degree.

Necessary Special Requirement: Registration [or eligibility] with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers.

Salary : In accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees-Professional Support Group Collective Agreement, $1,979.60 to $2543.68 bi-weekly.

Full-time employees who do not have unpaid separation periods during the summer, Christmas break or March break can apply to participate in the Compressed Work Year Program. Approved applicants are required to work an additional 39 minutes per working day from July 1 to June 30 to earn a total of 18 flex-days in one year.
