Basic Custodian
Milverton Public School
(Full-Time Permanent)
The following permanent full-time (1.0 FTE) Basic Custodian position is available at Milverton Public School, in Milverton, Ontario
The Basic Custodian duties may include:
Building Cleaning
operate and maintain all equipment
perform all minor and major cleaning
Building Maintenance
change lights
shovel snow
operate snow blower
clean and inspect roof
operate grass cutting equipment
perform minor repairs
conduct health and safety checks
The ideal candidate should possess:
grade 12 diploma or GED (required);
the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding;
mechanical aptitude with experience in 1 or more of the trade disciplines eg. plumbing, electrical, carpentry;
exemplary interpersonal, professional and organizational skills;
the ability to use a computer eg. GAFE;
experience in handling machinery ie. buffing machine, lawn mowers, snowblowers;
knowledge of proper usage of hazardous chemicals and cleaning supplies; and,
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, 12 months per year (afternoon shift work is involved)
Rate of Pay: $25.10 - $25.59 per hour in accordance with the Basic Custodian grid, UNIFOR Collective Agreement.
Health & Dental Benefits: Extended and Supplementary Health, Paramedical Services, Dental, including Orthodontics and Out of Province/Country
Pension Plan: Defined pension plan through the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS)
Employment Start Date: Immediately
