Job Summary

The Business Innovation team is responsible for the development of applications supporting some of government’s largest commitments including ambitious child care space creation targets requiring the development of creative solutions, the $10 a Day ChildCareBC program, Affordable Child Care Benefit, Child Care Operating Funding, an Early Care and Learning Recruitment and Retention Strategy and the implementation of the Canada Wide Early Learning and Child Care Agreement with the federal government.

This position represents the Child Care Division program in the design, development, implementation, and ongoing enhancement and maintenance of business applications to meet current and future business needs. This work supports access to quality, inclusive and affordable child care, which has been shown to help reduce child poverty, support children’s developmental outcomes, and enable parents to work, study and contribute to their communities.

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • A diploma in business administration, public administration, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience with business applications including user support, data integrity, administrative functions, troubleshooting, and user acceptance testing
  • Experience in working collaboratively with various partners on business process change projects

Preference may be given to candidates with one (1) or more of the following:

  • Experience in the Child Care Division in the Ministry of Education and Child Care
  • Course work or experience in any of the following:
    • Developing or supporting custom applications with complex business processes
    • Agile project management methodologies
  • Additional years of experience in any of the above requirements and/or preferences

About this Position:
There are two (2) temporary opportunities until July 4, 2025.
A permanent appointment may result from either temporary appointment.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
Remote work is allowed. These positions can work up to full time from their home in British Columbia subject to an approved Telework Agreement. The position headquarters will be Victoria or Vancouver.
