Job Summary

The Ministry of Children & Family Development is responsible for delivering programs and services to support positive and healthy outcomes for children, youth, young adults and their families across BC.

Service Delivery Division includes approximately 4,000 employees working in 169 community offices across the province, specialized residential centres and 24/7 facilities, delivering and supporting face-to-face, centralized and virtual services across seven service lines: early childhood development, children and youth with support needs, child and youth mental health, child protection and family support, guardianship and adoption, youth justice, and helping youth transition to adulthood and adult services.

The Strategic Planning, Performance & Engagement Branch provides strategic and business planning, performance management and reporting, issues management, employee engagement, executive and internal communications, and project and change management services for the division.

The Program Coordinator works with a diverse group of staff across the branch and division to support and coordinate delivery of the branch’s services and supports.

Job Requirements:

  • Certificate, diploma or some post-secondary education or training in project management, communications, social sciences or equivalent, and at least one (1) year of *related experience.
  • *Related experience includes:
    • Experience writing and editing a broad range of reports and communications.
    • Experience providing coordination services for assigned projects.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.


Preference may be given to candidates with one or more of the following:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
  • Two or more years of *related experience.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, including tracking and reporting out on complex information.
  • Data analysis experience, including the development of reports for senior leaders.
  • One or more years of experience working in the BC Public Service Social Sector.
  • Self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, status or non-status, Métis, or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.


PROVISO

  • Occasional overnight travel may be required to facilitate events.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 4 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
This position can be based out of any of the locations listed above.
