Corporate Services for the Natural Resource Ministries (CSNR) serves the six natural resource ministries (Agriculture and Food; Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation; Environment and Climate Change Strategy; Forests; Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation; and Water, Land and Resource Stewardship).

CSNR is a unique corporate services organization providing services for approximately 7,000 natural resource ministry employees in over 100 locations throughout the province. These services include all aspects of financial operations and planning, budget management, compliance and procurement, facilities, fleet and assets, corporate security and strategic human resources.

As the Program Assistant for the Financial Services Branch, you provide a variety of office administrative, secretarial, human resources administrative and financial support services for the branch, directors and managers. Highly organized, you capably prioritize and manage your workload to meet deadlines, using your outstanding eye for detail to ensure all work is carried out to a high standard. You are an effective communicator, able to successfully establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of interested/affected parties, and demonstrate initiative and good judgment in applying procedures within established policies and guidelines. Job Requirements:

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
  • Minimum of six (6) months of experience working in a professional office setting.
  • Experience managing deadlines and prioritizing multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Experience responding to routine verbal and written inquiries.
  • Experience/training with MS Office Suite of products (MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel).
  • Experience with meeting co-ordination, including travel arrangements and logistical set-up of meeting facilities (equipment, room design, catering, etc.).


Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:

  • Certificate (or higher) in a related field (such as office/business or public administration, etc.).
  • Experience working in a high volume, fast-paced, work environment with changing priorities.
  • Advanced experience with calendaring in MS Outlook.
  • Experience providing administrative services to multiple senior level staff in various geographic locations.
  • Experience working with records management computer applications (e.g. CLIFF and/or TRIM).

About this Position:
Amendment (June 25th): Posting closing date extended to July 1st.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
