The Team
The Mackenzie Provincial Court shares its office space with 3 Service BC Employees who work collaboratively together to each serve their respective clients. The Court Services employee who works in Mackenzie will often work on their own reporting to a Court Administrator and Manager who work in the Prince George Court location. The Mackenzie Provincial Court location works together with the Prince George Court location and fosters a supportive environment which promotes learning and growth together. In this fast paced role you will engage with stakeholders and partners including the Judiciary, lawyers, law enforcement, Service BE and the public helping to provide essential resources, direction and support to those navigating the justice system.
The Role
In this role you will play a key part in ensuring accurate and real time recording of court events using various technologies, helping to uphold the integrity of the justice system. Your work will directly contribute to providing the community with fair, timely and accessible access to justice. If you enjoy working in a fast paced environment, have a great deal of initiative and find the legal system interesting, this role is a good fit for you! We encourage applicants to visit a courthouse to observe proceedings and/or ask questions of a clerk or staff at the registry to gain deeper insight into the position.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED).
- Minimum of two years’ administrative support or customer service experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of one-year previous work experience in keyboarding, data entry, word processing, and working with standard computer applications and software programs (e.g., Windows, MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Keyboard speed of 40 words per minute.
- Valid B.C. drivers’ licence.
Preference may be given to candidates with:
- Experience in court programs and applications (e.g., JUSTIN, CEIS, ARC, CTAS, CCD).
- Experience as a Court Clerk and/or Registry Clerk.
- One year of previous work experience in a legal environment.

This position is part time (35 hours biweekly)
This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above.
This position has full time on-site requirements.
