Job Summary

The Team

The Role
In this role, you'll provide senior-level budget and accounting services to the Ministry, ensuring effective financial management and strategic decision-making. Your expertise will guide the development of accounting policies, procedures, and systems, while advising on complex financial issues that impact post-secondary education and skills training in British Columbia.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Canadian professional accounting designation (i.e. CPA); and 4 years related progressive senior level financial experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Experience in expenditure and budget monitoring, forecasting, analysis and reporting for large-scale, multi-billion dollar budgets.
  • Experience with high level analysis of financial transactions, reports and audited financial statements.
  • Experience applying Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) principles, practices, methods and procedures in order to interpret financial results.
  • Experience researching, analyzing and evaluating program requirements and delivery, and recommending changes.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience using computerized financial accounting systems.

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity until June 30, 2026. This position may be extended or become permanent.
