Job Summary

The Strategic Services Division supports Ministry of Children and Family Development Executive in setting the course for ministry operations as well as manages complex, large-scale, cross-division continuous improvement projects through complementary services including: Corporate Planning and Reporting; Internal/External Engagement and Communications; Project Management; and Change Management and Implementation.

This position reports to the Web Services Team Lead, Corporate Planning, Reporting, and Communications, responsible for the ministry’s internal and external web presence as part of government’s corporate content strategy, internet strategy and ministry content strategy. Additionally, this team manages the ministry SharePoint collections.

In addition, this position provides technology support services including receiving, diagnosing, resolving and/or escalating service requests on a range of incidents; as well as designing, developing and managing Ministry communications content and materials for the web; and maintaining the ministry internal web sites, external web site(s) and SharePoint sites. This position works closely with staff across the spectrum of the ministry including senior leadership and often delivers technology solutions.

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma in User Experience Design, Communications, English, Library Science, Computer Science, or in a related field. An equivalent combination of related experience, education, or training may be considered.
  • One year of experience practicing user experience design, planning, and managing web properties including experience in information architecture, content development and interaction design.
  • One year of experience writing and editing communications materials.
  • One year of experience providing customer support services in an information technology environment or helping clients to use and understand computer hardware and software.

Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following:

  • Experience using CMS Lite.
  • Experience using WordPress.
  • Experience using SharePoint.
  • Experience using Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience using Photoshop.
  • Experience using Adobe Premiere Pro.
