Bring your policy and legislation expertise to this exciting leadership role

The Ministry of Environment plays an essential role in maintaining a healthy environment and the important benefits that accompany it -- human health, sustainable economic development and a high quality of life. We work to protect, manage and enhance the province's natural environment to ensure the benefits we enjoy today will be available for our children and grandchildren in the future.

The Ministry’s Strategic Policy Branch provides corporate policy analysis and inter-agency communications services. Members of the Branch provide support and advice to the Minister, Cabinet and caucus committees, the Deputy Minister and other members of the Ministry executive, and to program area staff at headquarters and in the regional offices. Members of the Branch build and maintain constructive and co-operative relationships with partners both within and outside of the Ministry. Issues addressed by the Branch cover the full range of the Ministry’s diverse mandate.

The Senior Policy Advisor is a specialist in developing, evaluating and recommending direction for policies, intergovernmental activities, strategic plans, performance measures, and organizational effectiveness to advance the Ministry’s goals and objectives. The Advisor plans, coordinates, leads or participates in policy analysis and research, contributing to the development and implementation of policies, programs and legislation; conducts or participates in consultations with client groups; uses findings to contribute to the development of a comprehensive ministry strategic plan and ministry policies; develops analytical reports and discussion papers for public consideration.
