Your Opportunity
Our Indigenous Services is seeking expertise aligned to education and capacity building, partnership and initiatives, engagement and duty consult and or business practices specializing in Indigenous partnerships and initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities, organizations, and governments.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain collaborative and accountable relationships with Indigenous communities, organizations, and governments, fostering trust and mutual respect.
- Provide expertise in applying trauma-informed and harm reduction perspectives when addressing community issues.
- Facilitate initiatives and programs to address systemic barriers related to economic reconciliation and comprehensive community planning, and access to services for Indigenous populations.
- Conduct thorough assessments and research to identify challenges and co-create solutions aligned with the needs and priorities of Indigenous communities.
- Act as a subject matter expert on the consequences of colonization, systemic racism, and intergenerational trauma, offering informed and empathetic guidance to organizations.
- Support the development of policies and frameworks that prioritize the well-being of Indigenous communities.
- Lead and contribute to proposals, reports, and presentations tailored to Indigenous-specific projects and engagements.

Your experience and education
- A post-secondary degree in a relevant field, such as Indigenous Studies, Social Work, Public Administration, business or other relevant degree.
- Experience working with or for Indigenous communities, organizations, or governments, preferably in health, social services, business elated fields.
- Proven ability to build strong, collaborative relationships in allyship with Indigenous governments.
- Proven ability to apply trauma-informed and harm reduction perspectives in professional settings.
- Strong facilitation and relationship-building skills, with a track record of successful community engagements.
- Familiarity with Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action and other related frameworks.
- First Nations language and English skills are an asset but not required.
