Professional Intern- Business Analyst at Birchwood Used Vehicle Services

Full-Time, Summer Internship Position

Start date: April/May (Flexible), End Date: end of August

The Professional Intern - Business Analyst will support ongoing initiatives for both the Birchwood Used Vehicle Services and Business Analyst teams. Reporting to the Asset Manager, the Business Analyst will act as a resource supporting several business operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in defining Birchwood's trends and areas of opportunity.

It is designed to create a network of empowered students who gain valuable skills while supporting Birchwood’s purpose. Project Opportunities:

• Analyze monthly client financial results using financial analysis models and tools.
• Take part in a team environment, while providing real-time collaborative feedback on asset procurement and reallocation.
• Gain exposure to the used vehicle marketplace at an operational level, thus being strategically placed to influence decision-making
• Assist in inventory risk assessment and mitigation activities.
• Develop initiatives to reduce inventory inefficiencies and to improve inventory Return on Investment (ROI).

Qualifications:

• Participating in the Asper School of Business Co-op program, preferably in their third or fourth year of studies.
• Majoring in Business Analytics is preferred.
• Creative ability to conceptualize and articulate new approaches and solutions.
• Demonstrates an understanding of Return on Investment, micro-economics and business acumen.
• Experience using Power BI is required.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills as you will be dealing with many stakeholders within the industry.
• Thrive in a collaborative environment where team support is encouraged.
• A commitment to learning and professional development.
• Comfortable leveraging technology for most day-to-day functions.
• A valid class 5 driver’s licence and reliable transportation to work is required.
