Professional Intern- Business Analyst at Birchwood Used Vehicle Services
Full-Time, Summer Internship Position
Start date: April/May (Flexible), End Date: end of August
Closing date: March 11th, 2025
The Professional Intern - Business Analyst will support ongoing initiatives for both the Birchwood Used Vehicle Services and Business Analyst teams. Reporting to the Asset Manager, the Business Analyst will act as a resource supporting several business operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in defining Birchwood's trends and areas of opportunity.

It is designed to create a network of empowered students who gain valuable skills while supporting Birchwood’s purpose. Our internship includes professional development workshops, unique social events, and an opportunity to network with our executive team.

Project Opportunities:
- Analyze monthly client financial results using financial analysis models and tools.
- Take part in a team environment, while providing real-time collaborative feedback on asset procurement and reallocation.
- Gain exposure to the used vehicle marketplace at an operational level, thus being strategically placed to influence decision-making
- Assist in inventory risk assessment and mitigation activities.
- Develop initiatives to reduce inventory inefficiencies and to improve inventory Return on Investment (ROI).
Qualifications:
- Participating in the Asper School of Business Co-op program, preferably in their third or fourth year of studies.
- Majoring in Business Analytics is preferred.
- Creative ability to conceptualize and articulate new approaches and solutions.
- Demonstrates an understanding of Return on Investment, micro-economics and business acumen.
- Experience using Power BI is required.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills as you will be dealing with many stakeholders within the industry.
- Thrive in a collaborative environment where team support is encouraged.
- A commitment to learning and professional development.
- Comfortable leveraging technology for most day-to-day functions.
- A valid class 5 driver’s licence and reliable transportation to work is required.
