Reports to: Sandy Reynolds, Assistant Manager of Human Resource Services

Salary : $58,394 - $68,312 annual (prorated to term of position)

Hours of Work : 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, days

Position Summary:

The position is responsible for performing a range of human resources and payroll administrative duties for the Human Resources team. The performance of the duties must ensure a quality service approach to all employees and professionalism in dealing with highly confidential information. Reporting to the Assistant Manager Human Resources, the position will support recruitment and staffing operations for Bluewater District School Board.

The HR Coordinator will support the vision, mission, and values of Bluewater District School Board, while contributing to a positive, supportive, and student-focused team environment of respect, integrity, dedication, and readiness, embracing diversity, and fostering inclusion.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Assist with the recruitment and staff selection process?for all employee?groups.

· Advise employers and employees on the interpretation of human resources policies, compensation and benefit programs, and collective?agreements.

· Analyze?staffing?changes and ensure proper?entry of position and compensation changes?in accordance with?collective?agreements, Revenue Canada,?and?Employment Standards Act?for all groups.

· Evaluate and determine?placement on?salary grid for internal board experience as required and assist with annual experience-grid?updates.

· Determine classification of pay associated to collective agreement language related to all staff.

· Ensure accuracy of?seniority dates for board experience, union, and vacation administration?to ensure proper allocation of compensation and absence banks.

· Ensure accuracy of data and prepare reports on experience and vacation seniority for labour relations staffing committee meetings.

· Consolidate, prepare, and build reports to management on associated costs related to absences, un-used sick days, union dues and levies for the purposes of labour relations.

· Generate and participate in financial reporting to assist with analyzing data to support the management team at the labour relations table.

· Contribute and participate in internal planning meetings during collective bargaining and labour relations.

· Manage updates to seniority in accordance with the appropriate collective agreements and as required by departmental?staff.

· Act as Board contact in the maintenance of accurate seniority lists for the Elementary Teachers’?Federation of Ontario (ETFO), the Office Professional and Technical Staff Group (OPT) and the?Educational Assistants/Early Childhood Educators (ESP).

· Provide clerical and technical support to Human Resource Services.

· Effectively communicate with?employees regarding HR/payroll questions for all employee groups.

· Participate and collaborate in regular Human Resource Services team meetings related to employee relations and labour relations.

· Prepare grid calculations for negotiation at the bargaining table.

· Apply utmost professionalism and confidentiality handling sensitive employee and organizational?information.

· Provide back-up support to HR Staffing Supervisor.

· Support Staffing Supervisors with annual projection and staffing reports.

· Analyze and audit staffing charts versus HRIS records to ensure?accuracy.

· Assist with?annual internal audit and account reconciliation?processes.

· Evaluate and perform vacation pay adjustments as required resulting from position?changes.

· Determine sick-leave allocation resulting from position changes and assist with annual roll-over and allocation?processes.

· Manage and process confidential leaves and maintain accurate data within the HRIS.

· Distribute pay calculations to employee groups as required in response to individual or group grievances.

· Receive and enter changes?of?basic employee information and banking?records.

· Process?staffing changes, initiate expected gross pay calculation, and validate proper gross pay within established deadlines for payroll?processing.

· Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

· Post-Secondary Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources, Accounting, or Business Administration, or equivalent combination of experience and education

· Minimum of 2 years of relevant office experience

· CHRP designation or equivalent work experience

Assets:

· Strong knowledge and proven skill using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Office 365 and related applications, and relevant human resources database systems

· Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills

· Strong written and oral communication skills

· Self-motivated and self-directed with strong problem-solving abilities

· Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks within set timelines

· Proven flexibility and ability to adapt to change

· Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

· Experience interpreting and applying complex collective agreements, policies and procedures, and knowledge of school board environment

· PCP certification with Canadian Payroll Association

Job Requirements:

· Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check Required

· Transportation to and from work
