Description
The successful applicant will work in compliance with all relevant and applicable legislation and Hospital Policies and Procedures, will practice the Bluewater Health Standards of Performance Excellence and will fulfill their role within the Attendance Support Program parameters. The successful applicant will also possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and will have strong attention to detail and accuracy.

-Graduation from a Faculty of Pharmacy of a recognized university and Part A license by the Ontario College of Pharmacists required
-Doctor in Pharmacy, preferred
-Hospital Pharmacy Residency, an asset
-Management education certification or equivalent, preferred
-Minimum of five-year relevant experience in hospital pharmacy required
-Previous leadership experience preferred
-Ability to lead within a team environment required
-Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated required
-Effective verbal and written communication, time management skills, leadership skills, project management skills and the demonstrated ability to work effectively with health care professionals required
-Proficient with Pharmacy Oracle Health required
-Demonstrated experience with computer pharmacy systems and information/data management skills preferred
-Demonstrated ability to fulfill role within Attendance Support Program parameters required
-Knowledge of quality improvement methodology (LEAN) required
(In addition to regular staff pharmacist schedule and duties, including evening and weekend/stat shifts)
Reports to the Clinical Pharmacy Manager:
-In collaboration with the Clinical Pharmacy Manager and Pharmacy Operations Manager, Initiate, develop and implement standards of practice, policies, and procedures for the pharmacy; including review and development of medication quality and safety improvements
-Ensures Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) standards are maintained
-Monitor day to day pharmacy operations, including scheduling and daily shortage management of clinical pharmacists
-Oversee and serve as a mentor or preceptor to new pharmacist staff and pharmacy students
-Help ensure standards for appropriate drug utilization are implemented
-In consultation with the Clinical Pharmacy Manager and/or Director of Pharmacy develop and participate in continuing education and professional development of pharmacists to meet program needs and clinical competencies
-Represent the department in intra/extra departmental committees or Task Force for the hospital, university or professional organization as determined by the Clinical Pharmacy Manager and/or Director of Pharmacy
-Generate monthly clinical workload stats and annual reports regarding activities, medication-related recommendations, in addition to ad hoc reports as assigned or initiated
--Perform other related pharmacist duties as assigned or requested
-Promotion of Service Excellence
