Description
Buffalo Trail Public Schools requires a temporary full-time teacher at our Autumn Leaf School at the Hutterian Brethren Colony from September 27, 2024 to June 27, 2025. The teaching assignment will include teaching grades 1-9 and additional duties as assigned by the principal.
The successful candidate will possess the following:
A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
Shall be a dynamic student-centered educator committed to maximizing learning in a safe and caring environment
Experience and/or training in the application of Assessment for Learning strategies, embedded formative assessment, and varied summative assessments is essential
Possess a strong background in the use of technology to enhance student learning
Ability to create a positive learning environment and foster positive professional relationships with students
Is dependable with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate in a team setting
Demonstrates a strong commitment to professional growth and continually increasing their effectiveness as an educator
A willingness to participate in extracurricular activities would be considered an asset
Criteria Specific to this position:
Experience in a Hutterite Colony School
Experience working with EAL learners in a multi-grade classroom setting
Experience and/or training in the application of Assessment for Learning strategies, embedded formative assessment and varied summative assessments is essential
The Autumn Leaf School serves the children of the Spring Ridge Hutterian Brethren Colony. The student population consists of 20 students in Grade 1 to 9. The students work closely with their teacher and two full-time educational assistants to support the learning needs of these students.
The Spring Ridge Colony is conveniently located just off of highway 41 approximately 15 minutes north of Wainwright and 25 minutes south of Vermilion. The colony is very progressive and specializes in a wide range of agricultural products along with cement panel manufacturing. The people of the colony are very warm and inviting and work diligently along with the German and English school staffs for their children's education.
Conditions of Employment: An original criminal records check with vulnerable sector check (within the last 6 months) will be required if offered employment.
