Due to unforeseen circumstances, Buffalo Trail Public Schools has an immediate opening for a probationary Jr/Sr High Industrial Arts and Hockey Academy teacher. Additional subjects will include Social Studies Gr 9 and CTF/CTS courses. Flexibility in the assignment may be possible.
The ideal candidate will have:
Training and experience as an Industrial Arts/ Shop teacher (or a willingness to learn)
Hockey or coaching experience, (or a willingness to be on the ice to supervise and assist)
There may be flexibility in the assignment so Jr/Sr High teachers, regardless of specialization, are encouraged to apply
The successful candidate will possess the following:
A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
Shall be a dynamic student-centered educator committed to maximizing learning in a safe and caring environment
Experience and/or training in the application of Assessment for Learning strategies, embedded formative assessment, and varied summative assessments is essential
Possess a strong background in the use of technology to enhance student learning
Ability to create a positive learning environment and foster positive professional relationships with students
Is dependable with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate in a team setting
Demonstrates a strong commitment to professional growth and continually increasing their effectiveness as an educator
A willingness to participate in extracurricular activities would be considered an asset
Kitscoty Jr/Sr High School is a fully modernized school that has 280 student in grades 7 through 12. We offer an extensive program including Jr. and Sr. Music, Industrial Arts, Home Economics, Digital Media and Hockey Academy. We have very high expectations for academics, athletics and citizenship.
