THE ROLE

Since its inception, Hylands Golf Club has matured into a top-quality golf facility that offers a full range of service and amenities to its 1200 members and their guests. A true jewel among Canadian Forces golf facilities, Hylands continues to host numerous regional, national and international events. As part of CFMWS, our mandate is to provide affordable golf to our local military personnel and their families.

As a Bartender, you provide an excellent customer experience in our military golf course. During big events to everyday moments, you will build a rapport with the military community and get to experience various military traditions.

The Bartender will provide a variety of services such as preparing and serving beverages, maintaining inventory of bar stock and ordering supplies and assisting in the set-up and take down of social and military functions. You will operate a Point of Sales system, provide a clean bar area and ensure compliance with provincial liquor legislation and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience

Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in Ontario

Must possess a Provincial Responsible Service of Alcohol certification (Smart Serve)

Experience

In serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks

In cash handling

Competencies

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Bilingual (English and French) Essential

Reading: None

Writing: None

Oral: Functional

OTHER INFORMATION

Perform moderate lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing (i.e. more than 10 lbs/4.5 kg but less than 50 lbs/23 kg)

This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.

This is a seasonal position. The anticipated annual season is April - October.

This unionized position is open to all interested parties. Preference will be granted in accordance with the Collective Agreement for the UFCW local 175 bargaining unit for CFMWS Category I employees at CFSG Ottawa-Gatineau.
