THE ROLE

The Conflict Management Advisor will plan, organize, manage and deliver the conflict management services such as coaching, group processes, mediations and education and awareness, in support of the Conflict Management cell, plan and coordinate the provision of facilitation/mediation/coaching services for complaints of harassment and violence through internal sources or by third party contract for services, as well as conduct conflict management services including coaching, mediation and group processes.

The Conflict Management Advisor will prepare reports for management recommending courses of action to resolve workplace conflict, as well as prepare Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) plans and workplace restoration strategies for workplace conflict.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

Bachelor’s degree in Conflict Management and Resolution, Law, Industrial Relations, Political Science, Sociology, Human Resources, Psychology or a related field AND several years of experience in conflict/complaint resolution or a related field.

  • In alternative dispute resolution techniques
  • In providing advice on policies and procedures
  • In interpreting and applying policies, procedures, and regulations
  • In preparing training programs
  • In conducting presentations
  • In preparing contracts, correspondence, and reports
  • In tracking and maintaining records
  • In budget administration
  • In office administration
  • In conducting workplace assessments, an asset

Competencies

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Bilingual (English and French) Essential.

Reading: Advanced

Writing: Functional

Oral: Advanced

OTHER INFORMATION

This is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from Ottawa-Headquarters at 4210 Labelle Street, and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.
