THE ROLEWith 700 rooms and a maximum occupancy of 900, some of our guests are just passing through, while others may stay for up to one year. This is no ordinary hotel operation. We are providing a service to the Canadian Armed Forces population, who are living, working and studying while staying with us.
Under the supervision of Front Desk Supervisor, the Front Desk Clerk maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments. They register arriving guests and assign rooms. They answer enquiries regarding hotel services and registration, provide information about services available in the community and respond to guests' complaints. They compile and check daily record sheets, guest accounts, receipts and vouchers. They operate a cash register, debit and credit card swipe system and electronic door key system, and present statements of charges to departing guests and receive payment.
