THE ROLE

The Centre Castor is the ideal venue for outdoor activities and receptions of all kinds. Located on Base Valcartier, the centre offers a wide range of facilities and services. Accessible to the general public, come and practise your favourite sport such as golf, cross-country skiing, mountain biking and much more, all in harmony with the surrounding nature. The centre also offers catering, hall rental services and and yurt rentals.

Under the direction of the Senior Manager, PSP, as the General Manager, Golf and Operations you plan, coordinate, manage, monitor and evaluate the execution and delivery of the Centre Castor.

You plan, analyze, evaluate, formulate, develop, adapt and implement financial and administrative methods, procedures, standards and guidelines.

As the General Manager, Golf and Operations, you advise, guide and direct managers and lead activities in the day-to-day operation of applicable facilities. You collaborate in the development of budgets and business plans and track revenues and expenses. You administer, analyze and forecast budgets, expenditures and financial activities.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

A demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. This includes but is not limited to demonstrated military education, training or experience

Current Ice Technician Certification (an asset) (mandatory for ice (curling, arena) operations)

A valid driver’s license (Quebec), (an asset)

Provincial Responsible Service of Alcohol certification, as required

CPR and basic First Aid qualifications (an asset)

Experience

In golf, hospitality, recreation facilities or related business management

In developing and implementing local marketing strategies, including social media

In applying policies, procedures, and regulations

In personnel administration

In budget administration

In coordinating food and beverage services

In asset management including contracting and procurement

In using software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, e-mail, and Internet browsing

Competencies

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.

PSP: Keep our Canadian Armed Forces operationally ready and their families and military community healthy as part of the team at Personnel Support Programs. Personnel Support Programs contributes to the operational readiness of our Canadian Armed Forces through the provision of fitness, sports, recreation and health promotion programs to military communities across Canada and members while on deployment.
