THE ROLEUnder the supervision of Sports Manager, this person plans, manages, controls and evaluates the operations and delivery of the varsity program.
This person ensures that the varsity program meets the strategic direction of the athletic department, the college and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).
This person communicates with respective local, provincial and federal organizations on the management of varsity programs and with club recruiting program representatives to ensure effective varsity athletic recruiting program.
This person responds to inquiries from the external community related to the varsity program including media, leagues, other universities and the general public.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDEDEducation, Certifications and Licenses
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Sciences, Recreation, Leisure Studies, or a related field, AND some years of experience in physical fitness, sports and recreation administration or a related field

In planning, managing, controlling and evaluating the operations and delivery of sports, recreation, aquatics and water safety programs
In strategic business and financial planning
In budget administration

In personnel administration
In group facilitation, training and team building
In marketing fitness, sports and recreation programs including the use of social media
In managing facilities and arena operations
In writing, interpreting and applying policies, procedures, regulations and applicable legislations
In inventory control and loss prevention

In officiating and coaching sporting events and/or athletic competitions

This is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.
