THE ROLE

With 700 rooms and a maximum occupancy of 900, some of our guests are just passing through while others may stay for up to one year. This is no ordinary hotel operation. We are providing a service to the Canadian Armed Forces population, who are living, working and studying while staying with us.

Under the supervision of Front Desk Supervisor, the Reservations Clerk responds to all phone or e-mail reservation inquiries and provide confirmation in a timely manner. They will ensure all units requiring annual courses are contacted and group blocks are secured. They will arrange and issue all individual and bulk rations cards for incoming members and groups. They will ensure all financial information provided to data entry clerk is accurate and updated.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

College diploma or certificate in Hotel Management, Business Administration, or in a related field and some experience in the hospitality industry, or in a related field

OR

High school diploma and several years experience in the hospitality industry or in a related field

Experience

In hotel reservations systems

In hotel phone systems

In providing customer service

In using software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, e-mail and Internet browsing

Competencies

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

English Essential, Bilingual (English and French) an asset
