THE ROLEAs Youth Worker, you will supervise, coach and trains Youth Workers - Companions. You will support and intervene with leaders who are experiencing difficult situations in their groups. You will meet and intervene with children who have behavioural problems. You will evaluate and advise on requests for support. You will develop intervention plans in the support program. You will facilitate the integration of the child and his/her family into the support program. You will control access to medication. You will ensure the administration of medication to children. You will follow up with youth and complete intervention reports.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDEDEducation, Certifications and Licenses
College diploma or certificate in Youth/Family Studies, Social Services, Psychoeducation or a related field AND some years of experience in Youth programs or a related field
OR
High School diploma AND several years of experience in a related field
HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development (Asset)
Current CPR and standard First Aid certification (Asset)
Experience
In facilitation, teaching and group training of programs for youth
In children’s group facilitation
In intervening with youth who may be experiencing personal difficulties
In applying policies, procedures, and regulations
In personnel administration
Competencies

PSP: Keep our Canadian Armed Forces operationally ready and their families and military community healthy as part of the team at Personnel Support Programs. Personnel Support Programs contributes to the operational readiness of our Canadian Armed Forces through the provision of fitness, sports, recreation and health promotion programs to military communities across Canada and members while on deployment.
