 Job Summary

The Associate Process Engineer is responsible for identifying, implementing and leading cross-functional teams within the Mechanical Department to drive process standardization through the application of Lean methodologies.

Main Responsibilities

Process Standardization 

 ·       Oversee and assesses existing processes and workflows to ensure compliance and standardization across the Mechanical network.

 ·       Optimize productivity by designing, implementing and testing new procedures.

 ·       Track metrics trends to discover areas for improvement and monitor upgrades.

 ·       Communicate process findings and proposals to upper management to obtain consensus and agreement.

 ·       Provide work instructions for successful implementation of process changes across the network.

 ·       Support Continuous Improvement (CI) Green Belt program throughout all departments within CN, through project management and ensuring Green Belts complete all assignments

 ·       Participate and prepares for all CI Advisory Board meetings to communicate ongoing initiatives, and build a CI center of excellence for Green Belts in the network

 ·       Support communications in newsletters, digital screens, and other tools to highlight CI process changes and recognize team members

 ·       Support change management and training for improvement initiatives throughout the network for all levels within mechanical

Auditing and Compliance

 ·       Organize a yearly audit plan to ensure all processes, policies, and workflows comply

 ·       Conduct quality audits according to audit plan and communicate results to local leadership with timelines and corrective actions 

 ·       Incorporate changes to processes, policies, and workflows from audits back into documentation and implement them

 ·       Follow-up on all audits results for completion within estimated timelines

 ·       Coordinate any external audits and compliance meetings for mechanical.

Working Conditions

The role is performed in a combination of office, onsite and outdoor environments in various types of weather conditions with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. The role requires occasional travel (up to 40%) within the United States (U.S.) and Canada. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure, and stress. 

Requirements

Experience

 Lean Six Sigma

 ·       Minimum 2 years of experience in Lean Six Sigma, quality field tech experience, or process improvement related experience.

Education/Certification/Designation

 ·       Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent in experience working in the field.
