About the job you’re considering

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to perform research, design, implementation, and support tasks as part of our dynamic team. Your role will involve investigating, creating, and implementing solutions for existing technical challenges, including building and enhancing the frameworks and tools used by other development teams. You will be instrumental in optimizing our client's infrastructure, which supports one of the world's largest social media platforms, handling one billion events per day. Your role

  • Obtains tasks from the project lead or Team Lead (TL), prepares functional and design specifications, approves them with all stakeholders
  •  Initiates and conducts code reviews, creates code standards, conventions and guidelines
  • Suggests technical and functional improvements to add value to the product
  • Provide production support and troubleshoot issues
  •  Ensure system reliability and scalability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance infrastructure efficiency

Your skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of industry experience, building and operating large scale, high performance distributed systems as a DevOps Engineer
  • Experience programming with Python.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix/BSD internals and experience working with open- source software (e.g. MySQL, Hadoop, Envoy, HAProxy, Nginx)
  • Experience with technologies such as Elasticsearch, ZooKeeper, HBase, Hadoop, Apache Airflow, Memcached and Kafka with a focus on reliability, automation, operability and performance.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as code tech Terraform, Docker & Kubernetes a plus.
  • Experienced with deploying web apps to cloud infrastructure (AWS) and working with distributed, service-oriented architecture.
