ABOUT
St. Edmund’s School in North Vancouver is seeking an energetic and dedicated Education Assistant to support and care for the development needs of students with a variety of learning challenges. Education Assistant certification, or equivalent experience in working with children to support learning goals is preferred. Individuals working towards special education certification but not yet completed are encouraged to apply if their school schedule would allow for weekday working hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:00 pm).
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Education Assistant needs to take initiative and be able to work closely with school-based team members. Knowledge of various methods and practices related to supporting children with diverse needs and varying learning styles is important . The ability to implement student Individual Educational Plans (IEP) as set out by the school-based team is a critical aspect of the E.A.’s role. The successful applicant should be interested in promoting the mission of our Catholic school as well as assisting with extra-curricular activities and having fun with fellow staff members and students.
Applicants must have a current Criminal Record Check, as well as a Pastor's Reference Form (if Non-Catholic please indicate in your cover letter).
