About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Senior Supervisor, The Coordinator, Operations role in Elmworth plays a crucial part in ensuring the safe and efficient achievement of asset production goals. This role supports the Senior Supervisor and Senior Field Manager in developing annual OPEX budgets, leading team performance, and mitigating risks related to conflicting schedules, Health & Safety, and Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS). The Coordinator provides mentorship for effective troubleshooting, supports multi-disciplinary teams, and drives culture change to align with Cenovus values while mentoring team members to develop future leaders and support succession planning. Additionally, this role involves performing regular audits, leading development plans, and providing coverage for the Senior Supervisor as needed. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to Cenovus' success through proactive leadership, collaboration, and a dedication to continuous improvement.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide clarity on team tasks and activities within the organizational strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and effective use of resources.

  • Work within budgetary and financial objectives, identifying and resolving operational challenges while adhering to policy frameworks and improving practices and processes.

  • Ensure team objectives are met through prioritization, organization, and direction, by advising people, technology, and processes to achieve results efficiently.

  • Accountable for team performance, by fostering ongoing development through coaching, mentoring, and regular performance conversations, while ensuring that current and future talent/skill needs are met

  • Promote a balance of "hands-on" involvement and leadership, supporting team goals and being open to input that aligns with Cenovus' purpose and values.

  • Ensure compliance with the Cenovus Operations Integrity Management System (COIMS) and uphold Cenovus' commitment to environmental performance and safety standards

  • Collaborate optimally across teams, sharing takeaways, standard processes, and providing data and feedback objectively to drive continuous improvement.

  • Models what we value in all activities, continuously seeking developmental opportunities for self and others, supporting company direction, and translating it into actionable team objectives

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • 8+ years of relevant proven industry experience

  • 3+ years of leadership experience, with a strong competence for coaching and mentoring others

  • 3+ years of conventional oil and gas field and facility operations experience

  • Class 4 or higher steam ticket preferred

  • Experience in sour facilities environments

As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments

For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate
