About this opportunity:

The Facilities Operator position will perform day-to-day treating, water flood, CO2 liquefaction and sand cavern operations at Cenovus facilities. Supports field operations to reduce downtime and improve production.

Work Environment:

  • This position is located in Lloydminster and requires the successful candidate to live in the area.

  • This is a full-time employee position working a shift rotation (8 days on and 6 days off with 24 hour coverage).

What you’ll do:

  • Operate the plant in a safe and effective manner, while working collaboratively with all groups and aiding, coaching and on-the-job mentoring to new operators as required.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot all area-specific equipment to optimize performance to meet production targets and reduce downtime. Monitor emulsion treating by spinning cuts and adjust chemical accordingly.

  • Work closely with maintenance planners to resolve maintenance issues affecting daily operations or turnarounds activities.

  • Maintain and validate production and facilities records as required for accuracy and regulatory reporting. This includes but are not limited to volume reporting, log sheets, inspections, participation in HAZOP revalidations and engineering assessments as required.

  • Conduct Safe Control of Work activities. This includes but are not limited to work authorization, energy isolation, confined space

  • Identify and report Incidents, near misses and hazard Ids including corrective actions to support Incident Management.

  • Respond to emergencies following the Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and Incident Command System (ICS).

Who you are:

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

  • High school diploma is required

  • Refrigeration ticket / 5th class ticket is required

  • Operator 5 - Grade 12 with a minimum of 24 months experience is required

  • Technology diploma, trade certificate or equivalent is considered an asset

  • Power Engineering certificate, Gas Process Operator (GPO) or Production Field Operator certificate is considered an asset

  • Knowledge of piping and valves to isolate equipment and experience is required

  • Knowledge of operation of surface and down hole equipment related to wells and test values for producing production numbers is considered an asset

As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments

For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate
