About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Senior Supervisor, Maintenance the Journeyman Insulator will focus on the day-to-day maintenance operation, optimization, and outages. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with contact asset integrity and maintenance supervision to optimize operation, identify, and resolve vulnerabilities. You will identify and communicate potential issues, risks, and trends in a timely manner, such that appropriate action can be taken.

The Journeyman Insulator will provide technical support to maintenance, to implement, and maintain the ongoing preventative maintenance program, influence, and advise on timely corrective actions to maintain operations.

Working Environment:

  • Candidates must have the ability to work various hours (day shifts only). Work schedule to be determined.

  • Overtime as required based on business needs and schedules.

  • This position is based out of our Lloydminster Refinery facility and would require the successful candidate to reside/relocate to the area.

  • Successful candidate will be required to work in a wide variety of conditions due to the nature of the operation (working at heights, in confined spaces, with noise, in extreme weather. conditions, toxic environments, etc.).

  • This is a unionized role (UNIFOR).

What you’ll do:

  • Act as Subject Matter Experts (SME) in regards insulation and freeze protection equipment, piping circuits and applicable trim.

  • Understand and execute reliability and integrity programs.

  • Participate in Preventative Maintenance optimization.

  • Contribute to plan, recovery from planned and unplanned work.

  • Report to the Supervisor trends, scope changes, schedule deviations.

  • Work closely with QAQC, asset integrity, engineers to identify issues and opportunities.

  • Act as maintenance team support

Who you are:

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

  • Alberta Journeyman Ticket or Journeyman Red Seal

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience maintenance fabrication.

  • A valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required.

  • This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to the relevant requirements of the Cenovus Drug and Alcohol policy which includes pre-assignment testing.

  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative and attention to detail.
