About this opportunity

Cenovus’s New Grad Program aims to attract, develop, and retain exceptional new grads to build a top talent pipeline for the company. The program provides new grads with a broad understanding of Cenovus’s core business through challenging work assignments, training and development, field exposure and the opportunity to develop a large network of contacts through networking and mentorship opportunities!

Our Program consists of three consecutive 12-month rotational assignments that span Cenovus’s varied business areas. Upon completion of the three-year program, you will be matched to a permanent role within the organization. This role will be based on business needs, and relocation may be required.

As a Business Solutions New Grad, you will support the Cenovus Land and Well Management Ecosystem, including applications, integrations, business process analysis, and corporate reporting. This role involves managing relationships with business users, IT personnel, and application vendors to provide technical support and optimize applications and processes.

Possible rotation could include:

  • Business Solutions / IT

  • Well Asset Management

  • Land

What you’ll do

Your assignment to an area will be determined by business need, your past experience and your preference discussed during your interview.

  • Provide application support and analysis to end-users, including troubleshooting, resolving issues, and optimizing applications.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and streamline processes, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of business operations through innovative solutions.

  • Build and manage relationships with various business users, IT, and software vendors to identify requirements and recommend solutions.

  • Convey complex technical information in an understandable way for stakeholders. Facilitate meetings and ensure effective outcomes.

  • Generate and deliver comprehensive reports that integrate data across systems, supporting corporate reporting needs and aiding decision-making processes.

  • Support well licensing, regulatory reporting and data quality.

  • Support surface and mineral land functions, data quality, reporting and document management.

Who you are

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Legally eligible to work in Canada

  • Available to begin work June 2025

  • Must have an undergraduate in a business or computer science related program degree obtained by May 31, 2025 and completed within the last 2 years (2023, 2024 or 2025).

  • Innovative, with a strong desire to learn and the ability to encourage new ways of looking at problems, processes, or solutions.

  • Good spread sheet skills with the ability to develop and deploy VBA Macros.

  • Knowledge of programming and date science skills such as R/Python is highly desired.
