About this opportunity:

This role will be responsible for supporting the Rainbow Lake district in maintaining production targets and for ensuring that intervention work is prioritized and completed in a safe and efficient manner. In addition, this role will be responsible for optimizing artificial lift systems in the area and helping find opportunities for incremental production.

This role is based in Rainbow Lake and is 14 days on 14 days off rotational role. The role requires the successful candidate to live in Rainbow Lake while on shift.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with Field Operations, Integrated Operations Center and Operations Engineering teams to prioritize and implement Intervention-related work including, wireline and hot oiling tasks

  • Conduct on-site well and artificial lift surveillance and optimization for rod pump, plunger lift and free flowing well operations

  • Support field operations in completion annual AER regulatory compliance activities including Packer Isolation Tests, Surface Casing Vent Tests and Casing Integrity Tests

  • Promote safety as a core value while performing interventions and performing optimization tasks

  • Manage the wireline contractor ensuring conformance of Cenovus Safe work practices

  • Collaborate with the Well Delivery team while implementing downhole intervention work and be the liaison with Field Operations

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • Minimum High School Diploma

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience or 4+ years as GPO I; GPO A&B; or PFO A&B or Journeyman trades

  • Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum or Power Engineering Technology Diploma is considered an asset

  • Experience in wireline operations and supervision

  • Valid and updated safety tickets (First Aid, CPR, TDG, WHMIS and H2S certifications)

We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.

As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments

For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate
