About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Superintendent, Maintenance Planning, the Senior Maintenance Planner will perform routine maintenance planning as required for craft and/or process area of responsibility. This includes providing detailed planned job packages along with short- and long-term schedules for an assortment of Cenovus and contract trades people. The successful candidate will be able to communicate, negotiate and work effectively with personnel from many different departments as well as numerous service vendors required to maintain Cenovus’s assets.

Work Environment:

  • This position is located in Lloydminster and requires the successful candidate to live in the area.

  • This is a full-time employee position.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform Routine Maintenance planning as required. Planning of unit maintenance outages and assisting with unplanned outages as required

  • Provide a detailed plan for assigned work to include manpower estimates, material/equipment procurement, required procedures/specifications/drawings, safety and environmental considerations and a work breakdown structure. Facilitate informed and timely decision making by plant management team through the collection, manipulation, analysis and reporting of equipment/labor/inventory/cost performance data.

  • Develop, catalog and update equipment Planned Job Packages for scheduled overhauls, inspections, PMs and other repetitive type work. Prepares and/or assembles the necessary documentation and drawings to send equipment out for repairs or rebuilds. Develop short and long-term Maintenance work schedules for assigned craft and/or Plant process area.

  • Input, analyze, report, monitor and assist in the management of the PM/PDM process within SAP.

  • Ensure that Company/Contractor personnel and equipment meet safety and loss control objectives by ensuring that equipment inspections and safety orientations have been completed as well as ensuring that these personnel are aware of all other Upgrader safety policies pertaining to a planned work package.

  • Monitor and update SAP equipment and BOM databases and provide appropriate reports.

  • Assist purchasing with service contracts by putting together the Scope of Work for the RFQ and analyzing the Bid Tabs

  • Recommend to the Maintenance Planning Superintendent and Warehouse/Purchasing personnel, changes of Inventory levels to meet forecasted repair and maintenance needs.

Who you are:

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

  • Minimum of 4 years as a Journeyman, P.Eng or CET

  • 5 - 7 years’ experience in a refinery or petrochemical complex

  • The following are considered assets.

    • Maintenance Planner Certification

    • Maintenance Management Professional (MMP)

    • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP)

As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.

For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
