Senior Production Engineer

About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Senior Manager Production Engineering, Cenovus is looking for a Senior Production Engineer responsible for well operation and production optimization of SAGD well pairs the successful candidate will use industry leading technology to optimize producer and injector performance based on live data and will collaborate with Completions, Well Servicing, Operations and Process Engineering to identify and execute on value add opportunities.

What you’ll do:

• Leads the Lloyd Thermal subsurface assets to deliver highly profitable oil production within the bounds of facility, executional, and budgetary constraints

• Work within their own and multi-disciplinary teams to optimize their pads

• Identify and bring forward opportunities to increase production, optimize reserve recoveries, and lower costs

• Serve as the Production Engineering point of contact or subject matter expert (SME) for project work within the team

• Identify gaps and value-added opportunities, while driving the successful delivery of complex strategic projects and initiatives that support the broader Upstream Thermal team

• Selection and design of pump systems and completions for both existing and new wells

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

• Legally authorized to work in Canada

• 8+ years of Engineering experience in the Oil & Gas Industry is required

• Working knowledge of SAGD Reservoir operations, completions designs and/or facilities processes would be considered an asset

• Demonstrated ability to learn new concepts quickly and apply past experiences to current role

• Ability to interact and work closely in a multi-disciplinary team is required

• A proven self-starter who is adaptable and tackles ambiguous problems with a pragmatic approach
