The Ontario government introduced the Roadmap to Wellness: a plan to build Ontario’s mental health and addictions system in 2020. As a result of this strategy, the Mental Health and Addictions Centre of Excellence (MHA CoE) at Ontario Health is actively developing a provincial coordinated access strategy, aiming to establish a system that offers seamless, easy-to-navigate, equitable access to the most appropriate MHA service based on urgency and level of need. While the MHA CoE will work to define the key components of coordinated access, each region is expected to work with local partners to define how coordinated access should best be implemented in their region.
