Clearview Public Schools invites applications from qualified individuals for the position of Full Time Speech Language Pathologist (SLP). The assignment will be starting on August 27, 2024.

Clearview Public Schools is an inclusive public education system offering a comprehensive range of programs to serve the learning needs of approximately 2,380 Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12 students in and around the communities of east central Alberta. Clearview encompasses the Town of Stettler, County of Stettler, and the County of Paintearth. Our schools are located in Big Valley, Botha, Brownfield, Byemoor, Castor, Coronation, Donalda, Erskine and Stettler. Clearview supports student learning at 23 school sites, including 10 Hutterite colony schools.

The SLP is an active member of the student services team, providing consultative and collaborative services for students from Early Learning to Grade 12. Reporting to the Director of Inclusive Services, the SLP will support and promote the success of all students as part of multidisciplinary teams across the school division. Following an inclusion model of service, the SLP provides consultation and a continuum of support to the educator for classroom-based instruction, assessment, and learning. Specifically, the SLP will:

Provide consultative, direct services and supports to schools and families for students who have identified needs in speech-language development

Support the generalization of intervention strategies to all natural environments, including the classroom, home and new environments to meet diverse learning needs of students;

Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, and assess, diagnose, rehabilitate, and prevent communication, oral-motor, and pharyngeal dysfunctions and disorders;

Meet the student’s goals and needs and provides quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results;

Develop and implement effective treatment programs;

Participate in case conferences, parent interviews, as needed

as well as other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology and be registered with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA) . Advanced communication and collaboration skills will be considered an asset.
