What you will do:

  • Develop & execute the assortment matrix through vendor selection, monitoring industry trends, evaluating competition, and attending major markets

  • Develop & execute the merchandise strategy, complete top-level seasonal buys to ensure optimal productivity by style and react to trends in-season

  • Lead the merchandising strategy for OMNI retail channels, including ecom and brick & mortar, to ensure assortment strategy is executed

  • Partner with the Planner on the OTB process, developing the replenishment model, and inventory productivity

  • Support the ongoing OTB process forecasting sales, profit, and inventory to plan

  • Negotiate and partner with vendors to maintain gross margin profitability by collecting vendor allowance & maintaining strong relationships

  • Develop and execute aged inventory exit strategies to ensure inventory productivity

  • Responsible for all aspects of category marketing strategy

    • Plan and approve all advertising, promotional strategies, and marketing, and monitor effectiveness

    • Forecast sales for promotional offers

    • Partner with Vendor Media Services to negotiate with vendors on advertising co-op for omni-channel campaigns

  • Partner with and support visual team in providing in-store signage and store presentation guidance

  • Provide coaching, development & direction to Buyer Assistant & Associate Buyer, and other merchants as required

What you will bring to the team:

  • A BFA or BA in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field preferred

  • Must have 4-6 years of experience in a buying capacity, overseeing both the creative and financial aspects of merchandising

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

  • Strong business and financial analysis skills

  • Proven ability to create and execute a sound business strategy

  • Ability to build/maintain strong Vendor partnerships.

  • Willingness to travel, including overseas

  • Ability to take initiative in driving business results and are comfortable and confident in making effective decisions in a timely manner

  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment and leverage cross-functional partnerships

  • Possess qualities to be a respected proven leader who enjoys team development, mentoring others, and fostering opportunities for growth
