What to Expect:

As the Social Media Specialist, you will support and execute social media channel strategies designed to build the Hudson’s Bay community through relevant and authentic content and interaction. This job includes content creation as well as channel strategy and management, and we are looking for someone with experience creating relatable, engaging content, including video creation. You understand social media tools to measure and improve effectiveness and can harness data and insights to grow follower base, engagement, and sales across multiple platforms. You are interested in understanding the Hudson’s Bay customers and delivering a social experience that reflects them.

What You Will Do:

  • Execute channel strategies for platforms including Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), Pinterest, YouTube, TikTok and others, including new and emerging platforms

  • Manage social media content calendar from priorities to execution, including collaboration with cross-functional partners, ensuring strategy aligns with business priorities and opportunities

  • Create and contribute to content including filming, drafting, editing, or creating “sharable” captions for approved content when required.

  • Post content on appropriate platforms and measure the results of social marketing activity

  • Develop channel reports with strong analysis and recommendations including weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reporting as required

  • Inspire and educate the organization through thought leadership on social and digital trends

  • Support event team with on-site event integration and other duties as required

  • Partner with the customer care team to support a positive experience and mitigate customer issues through the appropriate forums and process

  • Escalate issues and monitor when needed

  • Proactive and reactive social listening and tracking against general brand health, competitor activity, and other key topics.

  • Support community engagement and monitor community health through comments and direct messages.

What you will bring to the team:

  • 2+ years experience in social media marketing for an agency or in-house creative team

  • Proven experience in creating exceptional social media content

  • Proven experience using data and metrics to measure impact and optimize plans

  • You thrive in a small team environment and collaborate well with others

  • Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail

  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines of multiple projects at once

  • You enjoy working in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment

  • You are an excellent storyteller and communicator

  • You exude enthusiasm and a can-do attitude

  • Fluency in digital and social, tech, and content trends across platforms

  • Ability to create content that is relevant to target audiences

  • Great taste and up to speed with relevant trends within the industry

  • Experience with Social Media management tools such as Emplifi, Sprout Social, and Dash Hudson analytics an asset

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, which includes weekends and holidays for posting/engagement (as needed)
