SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
Person who translates, revises, rewrites texts and performs terminology research. She/he advises the establishment personnel on terminology and grammar while translating texts.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Bachelor of Arts with a specialization in Translation or in another appropriate discipline;
- Member of l'Ordre des traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes agrées du Québec (OTTIAQ) is an asset.
Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in a related field.
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Good Knowledge of Health and Social Services Network and the Cree communities;
- Problem solving, public/community relation orientation, awareness of the First Nation's reality;
- Ability in the identification and analysis of the information needs in a work and life environment;
- Excellent critical thinking, synthesis, planning and decision-making skills;
- Extensive knowledge of planning and research methods, statistical analysis, information systems and evaluation;
- Excellent communications skills;
- Excellent computer skills.
LANGUAGE* Language spoken: Southern Cree dialect;* Spoken language: Cree and English mandatory, French as an asset;* Reading language: Cree and English mandatory, ability to translate to English from Cree, and/or French from Cree as an asset;* Written language: Cree and English mandatory, ability to translate to English from Cree, and/or French from Cree as an asset.
