Jr and Sr High Math/Science Specialist

Delta West Academy is looking for a Junior/Senior High Math and Science Specialist, who inspires their student's learning through inquiry and experiential learning. Delta West Academy senior high students take all three Sciences, Math 30-1, and Math 31. The successful candidate must be confident in their Math and Science knowledge and be willing to collaborate other staff in course selection and ensuring consistency in standards. This position has the opportunity to be extended into the 2025-2026 school year for successful applicants. We are looking to have the candidate start in January prior to the beginning of Semester 2 to enable the new hire a chance to shadow some classes and become comfortable in our community prior to the start of new courses in Semester 2.

Teachers are able to utilize the delivery of their program through a variety of modalities and resources to engage student learning. Excellent mentorship and support is provided by Administration and senior teaching staff throughout the school year.

The successful candidate will need to provide the school with a criminal record/vulnerable sector check prior to being able to begin teaching. They must also hold a current Alberta Interim Certificate or Alberta Professional Certificate.
