Position Overview:

Summary: The DSBN Maintenance Division is seeking qualified, organized, and resourceful candidates to inventory, track, and maintain various data values. Exemplary organizational, attention to detail, and time management skills are essential to the role.

The Maintenance Systems Specialist is assigned the task of maintaining building data values and performing systematic updates and analysis. The intent of the role is to assist with maintaining databases that are essential to the generation of the Facility Services Department’s capital plan; programmable maintenance initiatives; and data reporting.

Duties:

Maintain databases used for capital planning, programmable maintenance, and data reporting.

Perform on-site assessments of DSBN building systems and components.

Examine and analyze blueprints, schematics, and specification sheets.

Take responsibility for all work performed - ensuring compliance with all standard construction and maintenance practices - including building codes, regulations, and standards.

Ensure administrative tasks, policies, and procedures are properly performed and followed according to Board, Supervisor and/or Manager direction.

Abide by terms of Collective Agreement.

The primary duties described above shall not be considered the totality of responsibilities and tasks that may be assigned.

Qualifications:

Applicants must have a minimum three-year post-secondary diploma or Bachelor of Science Degree (or equivalent as determined by Manager of Maintenance).

Valid Ontario Driver's License.

Skills and Requirements:

Must have a minimum of three years hands-on experience with institutional computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) from an organizational and programming perspective, and working knowledge of data management.

Must have a thorough understanding of maintenance operations - including asset inventory, maintenance programming, planning, and scheduling.

Exemplary organizational, attention to detail, and time management skills are essential to the role.

Working knowledge of architectural and mechanical systems is considered an asset.

Compensation and Benefits : Salary Grid Level 1-S, $33.97 per hour.

This is a permanent, 40-hour position in the CUPE Union Group including group benefits, an OMERS pension plan, and incrementally progressing paid vacation. The Maintenance Systems Specialist will work primarily from the DSBN Education Centre (191 Carlton Street, St. Catharines); and as required and assigned throughout the DSBN school system.

Hours of Work : 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Monday through Friday)
