Elementary Principal

The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board is one of the largest and most diverse school districts in Ontario with approximately 81,000 students attending 151 schools (125 elementary and 26 secondary) located throughout Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon and Orangeville. In addition, over 40,000 students enroll in the board’s Adult and Continuing Education Programs each year. Successful candidates will demonstrate, a desire and ability to foster a Catholic Learning Community, though leadership and collaboration. Principals will set direction by building a shared vision which is aligned with the Board’s multi-year strategic plan; and secure accountability to parents, students, the community and the Board.
Candidates will possess the following:
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Successful completion of Ontario School Principal Qualifications Course Part I and II
Completion of Religious Education Specialist
At least 5 years’ successful teaching experience with at least one year as a Vice-Principal - preference will be given to candidates who have three (3) years’ experience as a Vice-Principal
Experience in both school and Board-wide activities
Experience in a variety of settings is preferred
LEADERSHIP PRACTISES SHOULD INCLUDE :
Setting directions
Building relationships and developing people
Developing the organization to support desired practices
Improving the instructional program
Securing accountability

Copies of all qualifications (Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualifications, The Catholic Pastoral Reference Form for a Leadership Position must be completed by the applicant’s home parish priest within the last 12 months)
