Homekeeper

1.Collects laundry from all neighbourhoods according to schedules.

2.Distributes processed linen and clothing to neighbourhoods when clean, dry and folded.

3. Takes direction from the Elders related to placement of personal laundry in their suite.

4. Labels all Elder clothing and maintains clothing in an effective manner. 5.Requisitions supplies and linen, as necessary, so as to maintain an adequate inventory level.

5. Follows fire safety code by ensuring doors to laundry room are closed at all times and dryer lint screens kept clean.

Qualifications:

1.High School diploma.

2. Ability to read and write English as well as to understand verbal and written instructions in English.

3. Demonstrated concern and interest in providing care to our Elders.

4. Demonstrated ability to interrelate well with Elders, staff, families as a member of the interdisciplinary team at River East Personal Care Home.

5. Ability to work independently and safely with minimal supervision.

6. Willingness to be flexible and change and adapt routines day to day Mentally and physically able to perform duties as outlined.

Primary duties will be in the laundry, however training in housekeeping will be provided to allow for ability for candidate to pick up additional shifts.
