Lean Solutions Project Manager
Position location is flexible and may office from a branch in the Greater Edmonton, AB or Calgary, AB Markets
Full-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 8:30am - 5:00pm

OVERVIEW:
Working as Full-time Lean Solutions Project Manager, you will be managing large scale projects that may stretch across multiple regions while allocating and managing resources for the projects. You will focus primarily on customer facing supply chain improvement projects for existing/potential key account customers. You will work with respective sales teams and other stakeholders to develop profitable revenue growth opportunities, including customer-facing project management support of national accounts, onsite locations, vending solutions and other company growth drivers.

The Lean Solutions team is a dedicated group of professionally trained lean practitioners and project managers who are adept at translating the value proposition that is the basis of Fastenal's go-to-market strategy to our customers in a mutually beneficial manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
o Communicating expected deliverables to stakeholders, including hosting meetings and conference calls to discuss projects' status
o Understanding what resources are needed for the given scope and ensuring the right resources are being allocated locally at each participating location
o Coordinating projects with sales, specialists and managers as needed
o Creating project tracking documents such as Gantt Charts and quoting and sourcing status updates
o Tracking initial sales ramp up performance to targets
o Managing the cross referencing of branches to customer locations and the implementation priority schedule

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:
o Possess a current full valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located (including successful completion of any applicable graduated license program for your state or province) as well as the ability to meet our driving record requirements to use a company vehicle, as needed
o Possess 2 years of Fastenal or related work experience OR a degree/certification in Supply Chain, Project Management, Lean or Lean Six Sigma
o Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite and Smart Draw
o Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
o Present ideas in a formal presentation or in a written proposal
o Work independently as well as in a team environment
o Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
o Willingness to travel extensively
o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
o Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 75lbs
o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
o Prior Fastenal branch experience in sales or management with strong understanding of the POS system
o Prior experience operating and troubleshooting Fastenal Vending and Branch Solutions
o Prior experience with or certifications in Lean Six Sigma
o Proficient using Smartsheet
